Maryland Creek Ranch

Conceived partly because of Covid, but mostly because personal projects are good for the soul, in an attempt to get in touch with the fabric of our community—those locals who have chosen to not just to live here but to thrive here—the HEY NEIGHBOR! series was born. The third chapter in our series highlights Maryland Creek Ranch, one of Colorado ski country’s last vestiges of the Wild West. MCR is an 1800’s era 1,100 acre working ranch operated by long time Summit County locals. Collectively, these folks have spent the last twenty-two years preserving the traditions and practices of ranching the land. Today, MCR is home to a herd of 75 Scottish Highlands and Simmental Angus cattle, ethically raised and grass-fed amongst the high alpine pastures of the Blue River Valley.
